Landi Renzo USA is recalling 343 2011 through 2014 model-year Ford E-150, E-250 and E-350 vans converted to run on compressed natural gas, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports. Dealers need to address a fire risk in vehicles that were modified from Jan. 2, 2011 through Feb. 24, 2014.
In these vehicles, the left- and right-rear brackets that support the rear CNG cylinder may fail, allowing the cylinder to dislodge from the vehicle. If the cylinder dislodges, a CNG leak may result and increase the risk of a fire, NHTSA said.
Landi Renzo USA dealers will inspect and replace the side arm brackets, as necessary, free of charge. The recall gets under way this month.
Van owners can reach Landi Renzo USA at 1-855-526-3400.
